I got into music production in November 2022 and started taking singing lessons in July 2023. Before that, my musical journey kicked off in my teens, singing in the church choir.
I’m always experimenting and pushing myself to grow, as a person and now as an artist, to elevate my musical talents to the next level. Singing lets me express all the different emotions that come with life, and I love playing my voice to explore different genres and practice multiple languages, including English, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, and Arabic.
LIVE PERFORMANCE
This song is the result of an awesome week I spent at the European Vocal Camp organized by the Modern Vocal Training Academy.
During the camp, I got to take some amazing classes, learning from talented vocal experts across a variety of styles including Blues & Scat with Sammantha Noella, Arabic Choir with Krystel Dib, and How to Make a Song Your Own with Julie Miles.
Through Julie's class, I explored the art of improvisation, changing lyrics, and adding my own flair. So, for my open mic performance, I decided to put everything I’d learned together. I incorporated extended scat, vocal runs, and the emotive power of Arabic scales to give the piece a personal sound vibe, blending Western blues improvisation with the mystique of Arabic melodic structures.
It was an incredibly fun challenge to adapt the song, change the lyrics and bring together all these different styles and influences into one performance in a 30-minute coaching session and just a 5-minute rehearsal before the show!
